When I woke up this morning, I sensed that something was amiss. The air felt heavy with unease, and as I wandered through my home in search of the cause, my eyes fell upon the culprit: a towering pile of dirty dishes perched upon the counter, and a kitchen sink filled to the brim with murky water and mysterious remnants of dinners long past.
Just then, my wife appeared and—ever so conveniently—announced that the sink was hopelessly clogged. She had tried, she said, to fix it herself, but fate (and the plumbing) were not on her side.
So, I did what any modern-day hero would do: I donned my metaphorical armor—my big boy pants—and called upon the good folks at B & B Family Plumbing. A kind voice on the other end assured me that help was on the way and would arrive within the hour.
As I waited, I fueled myself with cup after cup of coffee, each one sending my nerves into a jittery symphony of caffeine and anticipation. Just when I began to fear that I’d be swallowed whole by my own anxiety, salvation arrived.
Up my driveway rolled a shining utility truck, and from it descended Billy, a man whose magnificent beard could only be described as worthy of a long-lost member of ZZ Top. The moment he stepped onto my porch, I knew the day was saved.
And indeed, my intuition did not fail me. With a few expert turns and the steady confidence of a seasoned craftsman, Billy vanquished the clog in no time flat.
